Abe was an outstanding two-sport Athlete at Roanoke, playing both soccer and lacrosse for the Maroons.  

She led Roanoke to its first ODAC Soccer Championship in 1987 and was a 1986 First-Team All-ODAC and Second-Team Regional All-American in Soccer. She was also named the 1987 ODAC Soccer Player of the Year.

In lacrosse Abe led Roanoke to 1987 ODAC Championship and was a 1987 Lacrosse Regional All-American.  The following year, she led Roanoke to 1988 ODAC Championship and NCAA Tournament bid.  Abe was named the 1988 ODAC Lacrosse Player of the Year, a First-Team Regional All-American and a First-Team All-American. 

Following her 1988 season, she was recognized as Roanoke's Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.

Upon graduation, Abe held single-season and career soccer records for goals, assists and points.  She also holds single-season lacrosse scoring record.
