A member of the women's basketball team from 1985-89, Apperson finished her career as the second all-time leading scorer in team history with 1,453 points and 748 rebounds. She also holds the school's single-season records for rebounds (235) and field goals made (236).
The 1989 Roanoke College Female Athlete of the Year was also named All-American after her senior season at Roanoke. She was also a two-time ODAC Player of the Year, the first player ever to accomplish that feat.
Apperson helped lead the Maroons to three ODAC championships in her four years and earned an All-South Region All-Star following her junior season in Salem.
