HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. -- This past weekend, the Roanoke cycling team traveled to the ACCC Conference Championships in Hendersonville, N.C. And what a weekend for the Maroons!

Hays Edmunds earned his first AND second collegiate victories on Saturday and Sunday with wins in the Collegiate Category C Races. Not to be outdone, Ben Cerkovnik finished third on Saturday while Rafe Johnson also reached the podium with a third-place finish on Sunday. 

"I'm proud of the team for their accomplishments and their growth," said first-year head coach Shelley Olds '03. "This was our first year as a team and the first ever cyclocross races for each of the team members. Every weekend they improved, and the season culminated with the most positive possible outcome, victory and a podium appearance by each member of the team."

The Maroons are now looking forward to the start of the road cycling season in March 2023.
