Played varsity baseball, basketball and football at Roanoke, but Basketball was his best sport.  He was a member of the Monogram Club.

Organized teams before coming to college, which helped him after graduation in a successful career of coaching.

After graduation, Lauck coached football at Handley High School.  His 1923 squad produced one of the finest records in the history of the school.

Attended Columbia University in New Jersey and coached Woodbridge High School football teams for four years.  While in New Jersey, Lauck also coached winning American Legion baseball teams.  In White Plains, NY, he coached a soccer team that won the city championship.
