Layman was the only player in conference history to have been named a three-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Year. She led the Maroons to four-straight conference championships, four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, which included back-to-back trips to the NCAA Division III Softball World Series in 2000 and 2001. Layman was named Roanoke College’s 2000-2001 Female Athlete of the Year, in addition to earning the first NFCA Division III First-team All-American selection for the softball program.
