A center on the basketball teams of 1936-39, Moore distinguished himself on the football field as an end and was co-captain of the 1938-39 team.
He was named to the All-State football team and received honor of being selected to first-team Little All-American by the Associated Press.
Dixon was a mainstay on the baseball diamond at first base during his years at Roanoke and was a member of the Monogram Club.
