A Member of the Monogram Club, Wilson excelled in football, playing both end and tackle and was team captain in 1927.  The Statue of Liberty was built around his speed and dexterity.  In track, he often scored more points than the balance of the combined team.   He was team captain from 1926-28.

Described by sports writers as a one-man track team, he held records in seven track and field events.
