Wilson played two years of women's basketball at Roanoke College and also played one season of volleyball. In just two seasons with the basketball team, Wilson collected 453 rebounds, which at the time of her graduation was ninth on the all-time list. In her first year with the Maroons, Wilson was named to the Second Team All-ODAC squad and a year later went on to earn First Team All-ODAC honors as well as All-American accolades.
The 1995 Roanoke College Female Athlete of the Year, Wilson ranks third in all-time scoring average for the women's basketball team, 15.6 points per game. As a senior with the college's volleyball squad, Wilson led the squad in both kills and blocks and at season's end was a First Team All-ODAC selection.
