    The Roanoke College Athletic Department announced their 2020-21 award winners on Monday afternoon. The announcement of the four awards comes after an unprecedented season that would see all sports competing, in condensed schedules, over a three and a half month period due to the pandemic.
  • Roanoke Places Three On All State Team

    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their All State Field Hockey teams on Wednesday morning. Three Maroons were named to the two teams with Emilee Wooten earning first team distinction while Lauren Heffron and Alexis Wright were named to the second team.

  • Maroons Fall In Semifinal Rally

    One semifinal of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Field Hockey Tournament would see the #3 seeded Maroons travel to face the #2 Generals of Washington and Lee. Roanoke scored off a penalty corner less than two minutes into the matchup. The Maroons would hold the advantage until the fourth quarter. With just over 10 minutes to play, the home team would score to tie the game and then take the lead with a score off a penalty corner five minutes later. The lead would hold as Roanoke fell to the Washington and Lee rally, 2-1.
  • Maroons Advance To Semifinals

    The third seeded Roanoke field hockey team played host to the #6 seed Randolph-Macon in the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference(ODAC) Field Hockey Tournament on Tuesday afternoon. It was the second time that the Maroons had hosted the Yellow Jackets this season, picking up a 1-0 win back in March. The game would go into the second half in a scoreless tie. Roanoke scored the first goal of the afternoon midway into the third quarter and the defense did the rest as RC advanced with another 1-0 win over Randolph-Macon.
  • Maroons Pick Up ODAC Win

    After wrapping up the home portion of their 2020-21 season, the Roanoke field hockey team traveled to Winchester to face Shenandoah on Friday night. Each team would score a first half goal to send the game to the break at a 1-1 tie. The Maroons would score the go ahead goal in the third period and made it hold up as they came away with the 2-1, Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win.
  • Roanoke Downs Ferrum In Home Finale

    The Roanoke College field hockey team played their final regular season home game when they hosted Ferrum on Tuesday night. The Maroons would not allow a Panther shot during the first half as they took a 4-0 lead into the break. The second half would see each team score twice as Roanoke picked up the 6-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win under the lights of Kerr Stadium.
  • Late Rally Falls Just Short

    The Maroons played host to Washington and Lee on Friday night. The matchup of a pair of 3-1 teams under the lights would start just a bit late as Roanoke took a moment to honor their four seniors. After the ceremony, the Generals would score the first two goals of the night just 30 seconds apart from on another to seize control. Down 4-0 the Maroons mounted a furious rally that would see three scores in the final 15 minutes, including one on a last second penalty corner. However, the rally would fall just short as the Generals held on for the 4-3 ODAC win.
  • Shutout Win For Maroons

    After going to overtime on Tuesday in Bridgewater, the Roanoke field hockey team was back in action on the turf of Kerr Stadium on Friday afternoon. The Maroons would play a scoreless first half with Eastern Mennonite, but an early third quarter score would give RC the 1-0 advantage. A second goal in the fourth quarter would seal the ODAC win for the Maroons, 2-0.
  • Roanoke Falls In Overtime

    Field Hockey traveled to Bridgewater for their first road game of the 2020-21 season. After notching a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) home wins to start the season, the Maroons looked to get the campaign off to a 3-0 start against the Eagles. RC took a 1-0 lead into the fourth quarter, but a late Bridgewater goal would tie the score. The home team would score the game winner on a penalty corner with 4:34 remaining in the first overtime.

    The Roanoke College field hockey team hosted Sweet Briar on Friday afternoon. The game would feature a record breaking performance as the Maroons secured a 6-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over the Vixens.
  • Roanoke Kicks Off Season With Win

    Sunday marked the opening of the 2020-21 field hockey season as Roanoke played host to Randolph-Macon. The Maroons bested the Yellow Jackets in the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament and were looking for a repeat performance on Sunday. A first quarter score would give RC a 1-0 lead and the defense made it hold up as they allowed just 5 RMC shots after the first period of play.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released their 2020-21 Fall Sport conference schedules on Thursday afternoon. The schedules for the team sports of men's & women's soccer, field hockey, and volleyball have been released as approved by the ODAC President's Council.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their plan for the return to competition for the Spring of 2021. Tuesday afternoon the league office announced that conference play is slotted to begin January 23rd.
