  • 15th Ranked Maroons Fall To Nations Top Team

    The semifinal round of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament would feature a pair of the top 15 teams in the nation according to the most recent D3hoops.com Poll. Despite having the #5 seed in the ODAC Tournament, Randolph-Macon brought their #1 national ranking into the matchup with 15th ranked Maroons. The Yellow Jackets would enjoy a double-digit advantage a couple different times but each time Roanoke would close the gap. A late maroons rally would fall short as Randolph-Macon held on for the 77-71 win to advance to the finals.

    Roanoke College played host to Emory & Henry in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Basketball Tournament. The Maroons hit four consecutive three-pointers and never looked back as the cruised to a 25-point win over the Wasps.

    The Roanoke College men’s basketball team traveled to Guilford looking to remain perfect in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play. The game would be played close throughout with neither team ever going up by double digits. With the score tied at 56-56, a Roanoke hoop with less than a minute to play would give the Maroons the final lead change of the night. RC would make their free throws to hold on for the 60-57 ODAC win.

    After seeing a trio of Roanoke College athletes earn Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors one week ago, the Maroons would see four athletes honored this week by the league. The ODAC release their ODAC Player of the Week awards for the week of February 8-14 and Roanoke swept the men's and women's awards for both basketball and swimming.

    The Roanoke College men’s basketball team put their perfect Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) record on the line when they played host to Washington and Lee on Thursday night. The game started with the Generals racing out to a four point lead in the opening two minutes of play. The Maroons would take their first lead less than two minutes later and never trailed on their way to a 10 point win. With the victory, Roanoke ran its ODAC record to 5-0.
  • Career Nights Lead Roanoke Over Randolph

    Tuesday night marked the final non-conference matchup of the season for the Roanoke basketball team. The Maroons welcomed Randolph College to the Cregger Center for the first of two games with the WildCats over the next 10 days. Roanoke found themselves down by 10 (19-10) before a big run would give the Maroons a two-point lead, 36-34, at the break. Roanoke broke open a close game in the final ten minutes, 57-47, to pull away for the 21 point win.
  • Roanoke Roars To 4-0 Start

    The Maroons welcomed Emory & Henry to the Cregger Center for an early week matchup. The game marked the first of the season for the Wasps while Roanoke looked to get the season off to a 4-0 start in conference play. A 17-2 run late in the first half allowed the Maroons to pull away and cruise to their fourth Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win in as many tries.

    The Roanoke College men's basketball team faced Shenandoah on Saturday night in a game, originally scheduled to be played in Winchester but was moved to the RC campus due to a venue conflict. After winning on a last second shot against Ferrum on Thursday, the Maroons used a last second stop to preserve a two-point win over the Hornets.

    Prior to the tip with Ferrum College, the Roanoke men’s basketball team took a moment to honor their lone senior, Max Menzel. After the ceremony the Maroons would race out to a nine point edge before a Ferrum rally made it a one point game at the half. Six lead changes and six ties later, a Roanoke hoop with 2.4 seconds to play would allow the Maroons to survive, 49-48.

  • ODAC Releases 2020-21 Winter Sport Schedules

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released the 2020-21 Winter Sport schedules on Friday afternoon. Men's and women's basketball are slated to begin on January 23rd while the individual sports of swimming and track & field are also addressed. The schedules, as approved by the ODAC President's Council, are subject to change due to various protocols, institutional decisions, and other factors as they pertain to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    It is with great sympathy and heavy hearts that Roanoke College mourns the loss of men's basketball legend, Reggie Thomas. Thomas, a 1985 graduate and 2002 inductee into the Roanoke College Hall of Fame, passed early Monday morning surrounded by his mother and friends.
