Smith played just three seasons at Roanoke, but scored more goals than any other men's lacrosse player in school history at the time of his graduation.  He accounted for 145 goals from 1981-1983.

The attackman ranks seventh on the Maroons' all-time scoring list with 208 career points.  His 52 goals in 1982 are the fifth-highest total in a single season at Roanoke.

Smith earned first-team All-American honors in 1983 and was named 1983 ODAC Player of the Year.  He was also a two-time First-Team All-ODAC selection and earned second-team All-ODAC recognition in his first season with the Maroons.

Currently, a physical education teacher and varsity lacrosse coach in Levittown, N.Y.
