FARMVILLE, VA – The Roanoke College golf team finished fourth in the Hampden-Sydney Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, played at the Manor Golf Course.
The Hampden-Sydney Invitational was comprised of nine teams, six of which were from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Ferrum College was victorious, shooting +7 as a team, with a two day score of 583. Ferrum's Scott Obenshain finished with a two-day total of 139 (-5).
Andrew Butts led the Maroons with an 11th place finish, shooting 153 (+9), including a one-over 73 on Tuesday. Jack Prater took 18th with a two-day score of 159 (+15). John Willard tied for 21st by shooting a 163, while Alex Taylor tied for 25th with a 165 outing. Nick Norris rounded out the scoring for the Maroons with a 34th place finish, shooting 175.
The Maroons return to action on October 13-15 as the Maroons take part in the Virginia State Intercollegiate. This tournament will take place at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester, VA.
