The Lead: The Roanoke golf team traveled back to Georgia over the past five days to compete in the nation's largest collegiate golf tournament. The Jekyll Island Collegiate, the most prestigious tournament in the region, featured 21 of the top 50 teams in the country and included 43 of the top 100 golfers in the country in the 150-golfer field. #1 ranked Emory won the event at 22-under par with #7 Carnegie Mellon (-7) second and #6 Christopher Newport (-2) rounding out the top three. The Maroons finished 25th, one stroke behind #41 Rhodes. Palmer Cuny returned to the Peach State after winning the Port City Invitational last weekend and finished tied for 47th and wrapped up the week either tied with or ahead of 13 ranked golfers.

Day 3:

  • Teeing off right after daybreak, Roanoke would wrap up the event with 312, securing a top 25 finish and an invitation to the 2024 Jekyll Island Collegiate.
  • Chodos led the way when the freshman shot a 4-over par 76. Cuny completed the event in a tie for 47th after shooting a 5-over, 77. Clary posted a 78 with Whelan and Donnelly tying for the fourth score.
