JEKYLL ISLAND, GA – The Roanoke College golf team placed 27^th in the 2015 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational on March 13-15.  The tournament was held on both the Jekyll Island Golf Club courses, Pine Lakes and Oleander.

The Jekyll Island Invitational hosted 30 NCAA Division III teams, including four Old Dominion Athletic squads.  LaGrange College won the Invitational with a three round total of 863 (-1).  LaGrange's Cory Howard and Methodist's Mason Stutler tied for the Championship on shooting a three day total of 207 (-9).  The Maroons finished in 27^th place with a three day total of 925 (+65).

Alex Taylor and Ryan Davis tied for 43^rd place, shooting a three day total of 224 (+8) each.  Taylor shot back to back one-over 73-73 in the final two days of the tournament.  Davis put together a three day round total of 77-73-74 for his +8, 224. 

William Brown shot a three day total of 83-80-77 to place in a tie for 127^th (240 - +24).  Brown's best day came from a third day 77 (+5), with a birdie each on the front and back side of the course.  Jack Prater tied for 147^th with a three day total of 81-86-92 (259 - +43).  Prater shot his best round, 81 on the third day, with two birdies on the front half of the course.  Andrew Butts played in the first two rounds of the tournament, shooting 12 over, going 80 in the first round and hitting a +4, 76 in the second day.

The Maroons return to action on March 26^th-29 as they travel to Camp Lejeune for the Intercollegiate GolfChampionship at the USMC Golf Club.
