The Lead: The Roanoke College golf team closed out the 2015 Shenandoah Invitational by shooting a final round best 292 as a team to finish in fifth place in the 13 team field at Shenandoah Valley Country Club.
How it Happened:
- The Maroons improved by 40 strokes from their day one total allowing them to jump from 11th place to start the day on Sunday to fifth in the final standings.
- RC's William Brown carded a tournament single round low 67 on Sunday to finish in a tie for fourth place in the 75 player field.
- Andrew Butts improved by eight strokes from day to one to post a two day total of 80-72—152 and finish in a tie for eighth.
- Alex Taylor improved 11 strokes from day one, Kolton Cooper improved eight strokes, while Jack Prater improved by six.
- Virginia Wesleyan claimed the top spot with a two day team total of 598. Roanoke was third among the six ODAC teams in the field.

The Maroons will be in action on September 28 in Harrisonburg at the VSGA Intercollegiate Championship.
