The Lead: The Roanoke Golf improved by 20 strokes in final round action to finish in 13th place at the Shenandoah Invitational at the Winchester Country Club.
How it Happened
- Roanoke shot 334 for as a team in Sunday's first round but responded by improving by 20 strokes on day two to post a 314 and a two-day total of 648.
- Four of RC's five golfers improved on their day one scores individually, while Nick Peters shot a 78 each day for a total of 156 to finish 35th overall.
- Andrew Edwards fired an 83-77—160, while Evan Shuck carded an 85-77—162 for the Maroons. David Allen posted an 88-82—170 and Bobby Spellane had a 91-85—176.
- Hampden-Sydney won the team title with a 288-292—580, topping Mary Washington by eight strokes.
- Allen Smith of H-SC won individual honors after shooting a three under for the tournament.
