The Lead: Roanoke rounded out its fall season by moving up two spots on the final day of the annual O'Briant-Jensen Tournament that featured eight of the top-32 teams in Division III at Sedgefield CC in Greensboro, N.C.

How it Happened

  • The Maroons improved by 20 strokes from their first day total to finish with a 329-309—638 which slotted them in 18th place as a team. No. 6 Methodist edged No. 26 Carnegie Mellon by one stroke shooting 290 both days to take the team title.
  • Evan Diebus was the top finisher for the Maroons. Diebus shaved off nine strokes from his first round to finish with an 82-73—155 to finish 57th in the 114 player field.
  • Brad Williams shot an 81-79—160, while Nick Peters improved by seven strokes from day one, finishing with an 84-77—161. Andrew Edwards carded an 82-80—162 for the Maroons.
  • Mark Connelly of Huntingdon edged Grant Powell of Greensboro by one stroke to take the individual title with a 68-71—139.
