The Lead: The Roanoke College golf team faced six of the top 45 teams in the country when they competed at the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships. The two-day event was played on the Champions course at Bryan Park just outside Greensboro, N.C. The 54-hole championship was broken down to two days of 27 hole competition on the par 72, 6,895 yard layout.
How it Happened:
Round One:
- Freshman Michael Donnelly paced Roanoke with a seven over par 79.
- Sophomores Daniel Poff and Will Clary each completed the first 18 holes with an 81.
Round Two:
- The second round was played over two days with nine holes being completed on Sunday and the back nine finishing on Monday morning.
- Freshman Will Abdi joined Clary with eight over par, 80s.
- Poff wrapped up round two with another 81.
Round three:
- Abdi helped the Maroons to their best round of the tournament with a four over par, 76.
- Poff came in with a 77 while Clary gave Roanoke three different golfers in the 70's with a 79.
