Hufton is the seventh leading scorer in the history of the women's basketball team. In her four years as a Maroon, Huftonb scored 1,251 career points. She was a two-time First Team All-ODAC selection, earning the honors in both 1995 and 1996. As a senior, Hufton was named to the WBCA Division III All-American team, earning Honorable Mention honors. 

The college's Co-Female Athlete of the Year in 1996, Hufton holds Roanoke College's career three-pointers made record (217), is seventh in steals (184), and fifth in assists (324). She went on to start 24 of the softball team's 26 games in its first varsity season (1997), batting .296 with five doubles and eight RBIs.
