  • Six Maroons Honored for Academic Success

    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their 2022 Academic All State teams on Thursday morning. Six Maroons were honored for not only their athletic accomplishments, but for their academic success. Four of the six carry a 4.00 Grade Point Average (GPA), while the others sport a 3.974 and 3.966 gpa.
  • Freshman Duo Named All ODAC

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their All ODAC men's golf teams after the final round of the Championships this past weekend. Roanoke College would have an all conference golfer for the first time wince 2017 and multiple golfers made All ODAC for the first time since 2015. Fellow freshmen Palmer Cuny and TJ Whelan were named to the All ODAC 3rd team.
  • Maroons 3rd at ODAC Championships

    The Roanoke golf team wrapped up the season at the 2022 Old dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships at the Old Trail Golf Club in Crozet, Va. The Maroons led for much of the first day before ending the round with a 3-over par 287, just five strokes behind Hampden-Sydney. Day two would consist of 36-holes due to the Sunday forecast. Roanoke shot an even-par 284 and still resided in second place. The final 18-holes would see national ranked Washington and Lee post an 11-under par 273 to pass the Maroons as Roanoke would finish in third place, their highest ODAC finish in over a decade.
  • Maroons Compete at Camp Lejeune

    The Roanoke golf team competed in the 2022 Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Tournament over the past three days. The event would be held on the Marine base at the Paradise Point Golf Club. Roanoke would post a two-day total of 623 to find themselves in 17th place. The top 12 teams would advance to the Gold Championship while the Maroons would join 11 other teams in the Scarlett Consolation Tournament. After firing a third round 305, Roanoke would be sixth in the 12-team field.
  • Maroons Compete in Tiger Spring Tournament

    Roanoke College sent a team to compete in the Tiger Spring Tournament hosted by Hampden-Sydney over the weekend. The Maroons would compete as a ‘B’ team in the 11-team field. The first day, Roanoke would post a 323 and find themselves towards the bottom of the leaderboard. After a 12-shot improvement on Sunday, Roanoke would finish seventh after recording a team total of 311.
  • Maroons Fourth in Williamsburg

    Roanoke College traveled to Williamsburg to compete in the, 11-team, Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Tournament. The two-day event was hosted by the Apprentice School and played at the, 6,800, par 72, Williamsburg Club. After day one, the Maroons found themselves in third place following a day that featured temperatures in the 40’s with 15-25 mph wind. Day two would see Roanoke shoot an almost identical, 326, score in similar conditions for a fourth-place finish. Tournament champion #8 Christopher Newport posted a winning total of 602.
  • Rain Cuts Short Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Maroons traveled to Georgia to compete in the Jekyll Island Collegiate, the best NCAA DIII golf tournament in the country. The 30-team field included seven of the top 10, 15 of the top 25, and 21 of the top 50 teams in the nation. Roanoke would see themselves in a tie of 25th after day one, falling to 28th on the second day of action. The third round for the Maroons would be a wash out as the Oleander Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club was under two and a half inches of water, denying Roanoke any chance of moving up the leaderboard.
  • Maroons Finish 6th in Lynchburg

    The Roanoke College golf team got the 2022 portion of the schedule started with a trip to Lynchburg to compete at the, two-day, Hill City Invitational. In a field that featured four NCAA DIII nationally ranked teams as well as a NCAA DII competitor, the Maroons moved up two spots during the final and just missed a top-5 effort in the field of 12 teams.

  • Maroons 15th in Fall Finale

    The final event of the fall for the Roanoke golf team would be the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament hosted by Guilford College. The two-day event was played at The Cardinal by Pete Dye over the par-71, 6755-yard layout. The field of 22 teams would see 11 of the top 50 teams in the country.
  • Roanoke Takes Third At VSGA Intercollegiate

    The Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) hosted their annual collegiate event at the Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club in Front Royal on Monday and Tuesday. The Maroons were tied for the lead with Randolph-Macon after the first day of play. Day two would see Southern Virginia come from third place to take the event with Roanoke finishing just one stroke behind the Yellow Jackets.
  • Roanoke 4th In Gettysburg

    The Roanoke golf team traveled to Pennsylvania to compete at the, two-day, Battle at the Burg hosted by Gettysburg College. The Maroons fired a 306 on day one and found themselves sixth of the nine teams competing. Day two would see Roanoke move up the leaderboard and after shooting a 299, finished fourth in the event.
  • Maroons Rally To Finish 4th

    The Roanoke College golf team traveled to Winchester to compete in the 10-team Glory Days Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University. The one-day event was played at the Winchester Country Club over the 6,367 course at par 71. RC shot an opening round 325 and then went right back to work, firing a 315 during the 36 holes played in a single day.
  • Roanoke Finishes Runner-Up At Stevenson Invite

    Roanoke traveled to western Maryland to compete in the one-day, 10-team, Stevenson Invitational. It was a split squad as another RC team headed to Shenandoah for the Glory Days Invitational. The Maroons posted a 306 on the 6,500, par 71 layout to finish runner-up to the host Mustangs.
  • Maroons Finish Sixth At Kinder-Williams

    The 2021-22 golf season got started for the Maroons as they traveled to Harrisonburg to compete at the Kinder-Williams Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College. The two-day event was played at par 72 over the Mountain and Lake courses at Lakeview Golf Club and featured 88 golfers. Roanoke would send two teams to compete in the field of 16 teams.
